About Me

Update October 2015

Hi and Welcome here,

Well call me SS if you may,

I reside in Mumbai, India with my wife and a pet Labrador.

Here is my story-

I love change, and get bored easily. Every other year I pick a new hobby and explore it, Last year I picked up writing and I hope my love of it stays with me forever. My past indulgence have been Travelling, Motorcycling, Reading, Music, Computer Gaming, Mentoring, Vagabonding and yes there have been chemical dependencies too 😛

Three Truths I live by are Impermanence, Paradox and Irony.

I spend my days reading books, creating/analyzing arts, watching movies, designing, consulting businesses and talking to strangers.

To pay my bills I run a diamond jewelry manufacturing/retail firm with my wife. Together we have a couple of other business’s too in consultancy and education sector.

My passion lies with all forms of arts, and hence designing jewelry is more than mere business for me, it’s my purest expression of self, and the only art-form that actually pays my bills. 😛

I am a heterosexual man yet I spend most of my days with women, you see almost all of my clients and co-workers are females and that has helped me understand both the sexes with utmost ease.

I consume a very unclouded first-hand perception of the opposite sex during the day, whereas my evenings are spent mostly with guys drinking, watching actions movies, independent cinemas, exploring Rock n Roll, Metal, Progressive Rock, club-hopping and creating bad music.

I have worked too much in my teenage years (I joined family business at the age of 16, which I had to quit in few years for being too opinionated, then I did jobs for few years until I established a decent firm with my wife), and now in my late 20’s I don’t have much to do. Hence, this blog came to existence.

I also work in a strict selling-your-soul kind of corporate environment while my best pals are all purist of all sorts; mostly artists – Musicians, Writers, Authors, Painters, Designers and Advertisers – I have friends coming from all the sector of life.

I love motorcycles, guitar, travelling, scotch, and single malts!

My Pet Labrador is named ‘Scotch” for my love of the drink from land of Scotland.

Following are my favorite artists:-

Music – Pink Floyd, Mike Oldfield, Riverside, Opeth, Tool, Nirvana, Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Movies – David Lynch, Christopher Nolan, Darren Aronofsky, Richard Linklater, Quentin Taratino, Peter Jackson, Gus Vant Sant,  and Martin Scorsese.

Books – Leo Tolstoy, Khaled Hosseini, Kahlil Gibran, Ayn Rand, George Orwell, Aristotle, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Danielle Steel and Rabindranath Tagore.

Art – Vincent van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Banksy, …let this one list rest, it can get pretty long..

I accept life’s every aspect, ups and downs alike!

    1. Neither I have been to Bali, but most of my friends have been there, and confirmed that the art scene here is nothing in comparison to there in Bali, most of the people I know go Bali to pick up art and relax. 🙂
Thank you for stopping by, I am looking forward to your blog to understand Bali from a residents POV. 🙂 😉

    1. Haha. I am glad you liked the page. I wanted to name him something that suites his personality as he is super lazy and contemplative. 😂 we had two options Plato or scotch. Not many people know about Plato where I come from, so we instead froze on scotch. It’s my favourite drink and defines my dog- rare, makes you contemplative and zen like.
      Thanks for stopping by.
